Do we like Sans?

A character from Undertale (2015)

Our score: 8 out of 10. Yes, we'd back him. He's a joker who looks after his brother and is quietly decent, though he can be unsettling when pushed.

Sans is a short skeleton in a blue hoodie who lives in the snowy town of Snowdin. In Undertale, a human child falls into the monster-filled Underground and tries to find a way home. Sans is one of the first monsters they meet. He greets them with a classic whoopee-cushion handshake and is always joking, mostly about puns. He holds a sentry job but is usually asleep on the job, or at the local diner, Grillby's.

Under the laziness is someone who cares. He looks after his energetic brother Papyrus, who dreams of joining the Royal Guard, and he is gently supportive of him. He seems to know more than he lets on, and he drops hints in his offhand way. That mix of warmth and mystery is what made him a fan favourite.

We score him well because he is kind, loyal, and funny, and he never really wants a fight. He is a bit shifty about what he knows, and he won't say it straight. Players who push him too far find out he's far more dangerous than he looks, but he only does so when someone has earned it.
