Do we like Ryomen Sukuna?
A character from Jujutsu Kaisen (2018–present)
Our score: 1 out of 10. Absolutely not. He's powerful, charismatic and entertaining, but he treats human life as a toy and has no loyalty to anyone.
Sukuna is a curse of legend from the distant past. He was so dangerous that even after his death his power lingered in twenty preserved fingers, each one a cursed object that draws monsters. The series follows student Yuji Itadori, who swallows one of these fingers to save his friends. That makes Yuji the vessel for the King of Curses.
Sukuna is arrogant, sadistic and bored. He sneers at humans and sorcerers alike, and he is fascinated only by strong opponents and by his own pleasure. He sometimes seems to bargain or help, but it is always for his own ends. His charm and dark humour make him one of the series' most compelling characters, but they never make him a good one.
We score him a 1 for charisma and style. He is a menace with no sense of mercy, and the heroes of the story spend most of their effort trying to contain or stop him.
