Do we like Po?
A character from Kung Fu Panda (2008)
Our score: 9 out of 10. Yes. He's warm, loyal and endlessly encouraging, and he wins people over with heart instead of force. We'd back him, and we'd share the dumplings.
Po is a big, dumpling-loving panda who works in his father's noodle shop. He dreams of being a kung fu hero, and he knows everything about the Furious Five, his idols. The story starts when he is unexpectedly named the Dragon Warrior, a legendary protector of the Valley of Peace.
Po doesn't look like a fighter, and the masters, including the stern Master Shifu, doubt him. He doesn't have their training, but he has enthusiasm, humor, and a stubborn refusal to give up. He is also kind to the people around him and doesn't judge them.
He scores a 9 because his goodness is real and his flaws are harmless: insecurity, clumsiness and a big appetite. Later films and shows have him growing into a teacher and leader, and he stays humble.
