Do we like Peppa Pig?
A character from Peppa Pig (2004–present)
Our score: 7 out of 10. Bossy and a bit show-offy, but she means well, says sorry and loves her family. We'd back her, as long as we don't have to share the good toy.
Peppa is a young pig in a British preschool cartoon where almost everyone is an animal. She lives with her little brother George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig. The show follows her everyday adventures with family and friends: playgroup, swimming, visits to Grandpa and Granny Pig, and plenty of puddle-jumping.
Peppa is lively, chatty and sometimes bossy. She can be a bit of a know-it-all, and she likes to win. Her mistakes are small and very relatable, like not wanting to share, teasing someone or getting a bit grumpy. In most episodes she works out what went wrong, says sorry and makes up with whoever she upset.
That's why she scores a solid 7. She isn't a flawless role model, but she's honest and warm, and she looks out for George and her friends. Her cheeky streak keeps her fun rather than preachy. We'd happily go splashing with her, in wellies.
