Do we like Omni-Man?

A character from Invincible (2021–present)

Our score: 3 out of 10. A loving dad and a true believer in his own cause, but his choices are so destructive that we can't back him, however much he wants to be better.

Omni-Man is the world's most celebrated superhero. He is a near-invincible, flying powerhouse with a calm, fatherly manner. He lives a quiet family life with his wife Debbie and his son Mark. The series follows Mark as he grows into his own powers and learns the family business from his dad.

Nolan is a Viltrumite, a member of a powerful alien race, and his strength and confidence come from that heritage. He is warm and encouraging with his son, but he holds firmly to his own standards and expects a lot of Mark. That gives him a stern, unyielding side behind the friendly face.

We score him low because of what he does once his true purpose on Earth comes out. He was sent as an advance agent for the Viltrumite empire, and he carries out a brutal act that shatters his family and the heroes who trusted him. Later he struggles with guilt and with what he really wants, but the damage he caused is hard to excuse, so he sits well below the heroes we'd follow.
