Do we like Nightwing?
A character from Batman / Teen Titans comics (DC Comics) (1984–present)
Our score: 9 out of 10. Yes, we'd back him. He's a hero who is cheerful, loyal and brave, and the people around him tend to do better for knowing him.
Dick Grayson first appeared as Robin in 1940. He was a young circus acrobat from the Flying Graysons who was taken in by Bruce Wayne and trained as Batman's partner. He is among the best-known sidekicks in comics.
As he grew up, he wanted to be more than Batman's sidekick. He left the Robin identity and took the name Nightwing, a name he borrowed from a story Superman told him. He also led the Teen Titans and later set up as a hero in Blüdhaven, a gritty city of his own.
The score reflects his warmth and his acrobatic skill. He is the cheerful counterweight to the grim Batman, and he is trusted by nearly everyone in the DC universe. He loses a point for the stubborn streak and family friction that sometimes get in his way.
