Do we like Night King?

A character from Game of Thrones (2011-2019)

Our score: 1 out of 10. No. He wants to wipe out the living and has no interest in talking. He's scary and has a great look, but we can't back him.

The Night King first shows up as a cold, silent figure at the head of the White Walkers, ice-eyed undead beings from the frozen far north of Westeros. For years the lords and ladies of the south dismiss them as an old wives' tale while they fight over the Iron Throne.

He never makes a speech or states a goal. Instead, he commands by gesture, and his army of wights marches behind him. Everything we learn about him comes from what he does: he is patient, relentless and utterly without mercy, and he treats every death as a chance to raise another soldier.

He scores low because he does great harm and no good, and he never gives anyone a reason to trust him. His threat does unite the living against him, and that's the closest he comes to a redeeming point. He's a fine villain but a poor choice to back.

His story ends in the great battle at Winterfell, where Arya Stark kills him with a Valyrian steel dagger, which destroys his whole army along with him.
