Do we like Nezuko Kamado?
A character from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (2019–present)
Our score: 9 out of 10. Yes, easily. She is fiercely loyal and gentle, and she holds onto her humanity under conditions that would break most people.
Nezuko is the kind younger sister of Tanjiro Kamado, a charcoal seller's son in Taisho-era Japan. When a demon slaughters their family, she is the one survivor, but she has been turned into a demon herself. Tanjiro sets out to find a cure and to avenge his family.
Nezuko is carried in a box on Tanjiro's back and wears a bamboo muzzle. She is driven by hunger, yet she fights it and protects humans, even against her own instincts. She rarely speaks, but her expressions and actions make her a very clear character.
She scores a 9 because of her loyalty, her self-control and her willingness to put herself between danger and the innocent. She loses a point only because she is dangerous in principle, and the people around her have to trust her to stay herself.
