Do we like Morpheus?
A character from The Matrix (1999)
Our score: 8 out of 10. A calm, principled leader with a bit of zealot in him. He risks everything for others and believes in people, so yes, we'd back him.
Morpheus is a legendary, almost mythic rebel in a world where most of humanity lives inside the Matrix, a computer simulation. He captains a small ship, hunts for recruits, and offers them a choice: take the blue pill and stay comfortable, or take the red pill and see the truth.
He is composed, articulate and fiercely loyal. His great strength is faith: in his crew, and in the idea that one person can change everything. That faith is also his flaw. He can be rigid, and he pushes his belief hard enough to put people in danger.
He earns a high score because he leads by conviction and example, takes the biggest risks himself, and treats the people he frees as comrades. He is no saint, but he is someone you would follow into the dark.
