Do we like Madara Uchiha?
A character from Naruto Shippuden (2009-2017)
Our score: 2 out of 10. Brilliant and tragic, but his answer to the world's pain is a plan that costs everyone their freedom. We'd admire his power and not back his plans.
Madara Uchiha is one of the great legends of the ninja world in Naruto. He's a prodigy of the Uchiha clan, known for huge power and a famously fierce rivalry with Hashirama Senju. The two clans were long at war, and the two men once dreamed of a peaceful village where children would not have to fight.
What makes him compelling is that his goals come from real pain. He has seen too much loss, and he decides the world's problems can only be fixed by drastic means. He's calm, proud, patient and terrifyingly capable, and he often seems to be several steps ahead of everyone around him.
He scores low because of the scale of what he's willing to do. His idea of peace means taking away everyone's choices, and he's willing to cause a war and enormous suffering to get it. He's one of the series' best villains, but we wouldn't back him.
