Our score: 6 out of 10. Mischievous, loud and secretly soft-hearted. She's a troublemaker with a good heart underneath, so we'd back her, but we'd keep an eye on her.

Kuromi first appeared in the 2005 anime Onegai My Melody, where she is a rival to the sweet, gentle My Melody. She wears a black jester hood with a pink skull, and she's a self-styled bad girl who loves mischief. She also carries a notebook full of her plans.

Her rivalry with My Melody drives most of her early schemes. They're usually silly and badly planned, and they tend to backfire. She keeps a tough, punk attitude, but underneath it she is touchy and wants to be liked and noticed.

She later became a star in her own right, with her own projects and a co-starring role in the 2025 Netflix series My Melody & Kuromi. We score her a 6. She's a lovable rebel who causes trouble but rarely means real harm, and her loyalty and heart win us over.
