Do we like Judy Hopps?
A character from Zootopia (2016)
Our score: 8 out of 10. Yes, we'd back her. She's brave, hard-working and kind at heart, and she owns up to her mistakes. We'd just hope she learns to listen before she leaps.
Judy Hopps grows up in rural Bunnyburrow, where rabbits farm carrots. She dreams of being a police officer, even though everyone tells her a bunny can't do the job. She works hard, graduates at the top of her academy class, and moves to the big city of Zootopia, where animals of every kind live together.
Once there, she's stuck on parking tickets while the bigger officers get the real cases. She is stubborn and optimistic, and she keeps pushing until she gets a chance to solve a missing-animals mystery. To do it, she has to team up with a streetwise fox who is far from an obvious ally.
Her flaws are what make her likable. She is a bit naive, quick to judge, and sometimes blind to her own prejudices, even though she knows what it's like to be written off. She is also brave, honest and ready to say sorry. Those qualities, plus her determination and her good heart, earn her a solid 8 out of 10.
