Do we like Jiraiya?
A character from Naruto (1999-2014)
Our score: 8 out of 10. Yes, we'd back him. He's a goofball and a lech, but he's loyal and brave, and he will always stand between a kid and danger.
Jiraiya is one of the three legendary Sannin of the Hidden Leaf Village. He is a huge, loud, white-haired ninja who writes racy novels and 'researches' them in places he shouldn't. Behind the clowning, he runs a spy network and is one of the strongest fighters in the world.
When the young, brash Naruto needs a teacher, Jiraiya takes him on. He teaches Naruto powerful techniques and, more importantly, how to keep going when things hurt. He is a patient mentor who cares about his students even when he hides it behind jokes.
He scores high because his heart is always in the right place. He is often a messy, flawed person, but he believes people can change and he never stops trying to reach them. His perviness costs him a point or two.
