Do we like Invincible (Mark Grayson)?
A character from Invincible (2021–present)
Our score: 8 out of 10. Yes, we'd back him. He's decent, stubborn and keeps trying to do right, even when it costs him and he gets things wrong.
Mark Grayson is an ordinary high-schooler with a secret. His father, Nolan, is the world's most celebrated superhero. When Mark's powers arrive at around seventeen, he takes the name Invincible and begins learning the job. He has a part-time gig, a worried mum, and school friends to keep happy.
Mark's defining trait is his earnestness. He believes in being a hero and wants to do it the right way. He is also young, impulsive and often out of his depth. The show is much bloodier and more morally complicated than a typical superhero cartoon, and Mark is the one who keeps asking what being good actually costs.
We score him an 8 because his heart is reliably in the right place, he owns his mistakes, and he keeps growing. He loses a couple of points for rash decisions and a temper that sometimes makes situations worse.
