Do we like Hinata Hyuga?
A character from Naruto (1999-2017)
Our score: 9 out of 10. Yes, we'd back her. She's kind and loyal, and her quiet courage grows into real strength. She leads with compassion and never gives up.
Hinata is the eldest daughter of the main Hyuga family, a clan famous for the Byakugan eye and the Gentle Fist fighting style. She was raised to be the clan's heir, but her father judged her too timid and gentle, and her confidence suffered for it. The story starts with her watching Naruto from afar. He is an outcast who refuses to quit, and he inspires her to try harder.
Her fight against her cousin Neji in the Chunin Exams is an early turning point. She loses, but she shows a new resolve and a determination that people had not seen in her before. Over the series she moves from a timid girl to a capable fighter and a dependable teammate. Her kindness never fades along the way.
We give her a 9 because she has almost no cruelty, a lot of courage, and real growth. She isn't flashy, and some fans find her early shyness limiting. Still, she does a great deal of quiet good. Late in the story her role grows, and she makes a brave stand for the person she loves, which pays off her whole arc.
