Do we like Hamtaro?
A character from Hamtaro (Tottoko Hamutaro) (2000–2006)
Our score: 9 out of 10. Yes, we'd back him. He's brave, cheerful and loyal, and he always helps a friend who's in trouble.
Hamtaro is a pet hamster who lives with a girl named Laura (Hiroko in the Japanese version). He is based on the storybook and manga series by Ritsuko Kawai. The anime follows his daily adventures.
When his owner is out, Hamtaro leaves his cage and goes to meet the Ham-Hams. They are a group of hamster friends who share a clubhouse. Each episode sends them on a small quest, such as helping a new friend, finding something that's lost, or solving a mix-up.
He gets a high score because he is a gentle and eager friend. He is curious, he is brave when he needs to be, and he takes other hamsters' troubles seriously. His faults are minor: he can be a bit naive and he loves sunflower seeds too much.
