Do we like Gus Fring?
A character from Breaking Bad (2009-2011)
Our score: 2 out of 10. Polite, patient and generous to his community, but he runs a ruthless drug empire and treats people as pieces to move. We'd enjoy his chicken and never trust him.
Gus Fring is the friendly, immaculately dressed owner of Los Pollos Hermanos, a popular fried chicken chain in New Mexico. He is a pillar of the local community, and he even works with the DEA at charity events.
Behind the restaurants, he runs a big and carefully hidden drug operation. He is meticulous, patient and rarely raises his voice. Once Walter White's skills come to his attention, he treats Walt as a valuable asset to be managed.
His public kindness is real in places, but it is a tool, and the people around him are expendable once they stop being useful. He never rushes and he never forgets a slight. That makes him one of TV's most chilling villains, and it is why we give him a low score.
