Do we like Dora?
A character from Dora the Explorer (2000–2019)
Our score: 9 out of 10. Yes, we'd back her. She's kind, brave and endlessly patient, she shares everything, and she teaches us along the way. She can be a bit repetitive.
Dora is a young explorer who lives with her family and her best friend Boots, a monkey in red boots. In each episode she sets out on a journey to deliver something, find something or help someone. She talks directly to the audience and asks them to answer her questions and join in.
She has a Backpack, a Map and a lot of optimism. She uses Spanish words, counting and simple puzzles to get past obstacles such as a troll bridge or a grumpy giant. Her main nuisance is Swiper the sneaky fox, who tries to swipe her things. She never gets angry with him and just says 'Swiper, no swiping!'
We score her 9 out of 10. Her kindness, teamwork and curiosity are the model of a good friend. She loses a point only because the formula never changes, and her cheerfulness can wear thin if you've heard it a hundred times.
