Do we like Doomguy?
A character from Doom (1993)
Our score: 8 out of 10. Rude to his handlers and not much of a talker, but he's the one who actually stops Hell's invasion. We'd back him, and we'd stay out of his way.
Doomguy is the player character of id Software's Doom, which began in 1993. He's a space marine who fights demons that pour out of a portal to Hell. The early games never gave him a name or a voice, so the player could step into his boots. Later games made him a legend the demons themselves fear.
In Doom (2016) he wakes up in a sarcophagus on a Mars research base and cuts a path through the demon invasion. He openly despises Samuel Hayden, the executive who is supposed to be in charge. He ignores anything that isn't helping him kill demons. In Doom Eternal he takes the fight to Earth and works with Hayden again, but he still can't be controlled.
He gets a high score because he is single-minded about protecting humanity. He is a poor team player and leaves a lot of destruction behind, but his targets are demons, and he puts a stop to several apocalypses. The one thing that holds him back is that he simply won't listen to anyone.
