Do we like Din Djarin?
A character from The Mandalorian (2019–)
Our score: 8 out of 10. Yes, we'd back him. He's gruff and does a lot of questionable bounty work, but he keeps choosing to protect the vulnerable, and he keeps his word.
Din Djarin is a Mandalorian, one of a secretive warrior culture who wear armor and don't take off their helmets in front of others. He works as a bounty hunter on the fringes of the galaxy after the fall of the Empire. He's quiet and practical and has a dry sense of humor. Money is how he gets by, and he follows his people's Creed.
His life changes when a client hires him to deliver a mysterious child, later named Grogu. He starts the job as a pure transaction, but he can't hand the child over to people who might harm him. He gives up the contract and the safety of his old life to protect Grogu.
That's why he scores well. He's rough around the edges and takes jobs a purely good man wouldn't. But his actions repeatedly put others first, he's loyal, and he grows from a loner into a caring father figure. Over the series he also starts questioning the rigid rules he was raised with, and he stays humble about it.
