Do we like Cinderella?
A character from Cinderella (1950)
Our score: 8 out of 10. Yes, we'd back her. She stays kind and hopeful under constant mistreatment. She isn't much of a fighter, but she's a good friend and she's stubbornly optimistic.
Cinderella lives in her late father's chateau, but her vain stepmother and two stepsisters make her their servant. She cooks, cleans and takes orders all day. Her friends are the mice and birds who share the house, and she makes time for them anyway.
What stands out is her attitude. She keeps a gentle temper and clings to the belief that if you keep dreaming, your wishes can come true. She is polite to people who are cruel to her, and she looks after the smallest creatures in the house, even when that costs her.
We'd back her because of her warmth and patience. She loses a few points for being fairly passive, since much of the plot is driven by helpers around her. But her kindness is real, and she does stand up for herself when it matters most. Her good nature wins people over, and we'd happily follow her.
