Do we like Carrie Bradshaw?
A character from Sex and the City (1998-2004)
Our score: 6 out of 10. Warm, funny and loyal when it counts, but self-absorbed and careless with other people's hearts. We'd back her, with an eye-roll or two.
Carrie is a Manhattan newspaper columnist whose weekly column, also called "Sex and the City", narrates the show. She uses her own dating life and her friends' as material to ask how modern women find love, independence and a good pair of shoes.
Her best traits are curiosity, humour and loyalty to her close friends. She asks honest questions about relationships, and she is often the first to turn up when someone needs her.
Her flaws are just as clear. She can be self-centred, indecisive and financially reckless, and she often hurts good people while chasing a romantic idea. That mix of charm and bad judgement is why she lands in the middle, a little above it. We like her, but we wouldn't lend her money.
