Do we like Boba Fett?
A character from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
Our score: 4 out of 10. A professional with a code and a cool helmet, but he hunts people for money and works for awful bosses. We'd back him a little, though we wouldn't let him near our friends.
Boba Fett is a Mandalorian-armored bounty hunter. He first appears in the original Star Wars films as a silent, dangerous presence hired by Darth Vader to track down the heroes. He has very few lines, but his armor and his reputation made him a fan favorite. The prequels and The Clone Wars later show him as a boy raised by his genetic template, the bounty hunter Jango Fett.
His score comes from the work he does. He takes jobs from anyone who pays, including crime lords like Jabba the Hutt and the Empire, and he hands people over to terrible fates. In his favor, he's honest about it, he keeps his deals, and he's quietly principled in his own way.
Later stories, The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, show him after he survives the Sarlacc pit. He takes over Jabba's old territory on Tatooine alongside Fennec Shand, and he tries to rule with respect instead of fear. That makes him more sympathetic, but he is still a crime boss.
