Do we like Benny the Bull?
A character from Dora the Explorer (2000–2014)
Our score: 8 out of 10. A big softie who's always up for helping. His packed basket has saved the day more than once, and he never turns Dora away. We'd back him, and we'd bring snacks.
Benny is a friend of Dora's in the preschool adventure series Dora the Explorer. Dora and her monkey pal Boots head off on quests, and the viewers at home help by answering questions and shouting along. Benny is a tall, mostly blue bull with little yellow horns and a polka-dot bandana. He lives in a barn, loves to eat, and often travels by hot air balloon.
His main job in the story is to be a friendly face with useful stuff. In different episodes his basket happens to hold what Dora needs. In one, that's milk and a baby bottle for a thirsty baby fox. In another, it's a gown and a bow tie so Dora and Boots can get into a castle. He tends to be surprised that he packed these things in the first place, which is part of the fun.
He's also a big softie. In one episode he admits he can't sleep without nine dolls he calls his "guys". He is a bit of a comic sidekick rather than a hero who drives the plot. But he is always warm, always willing, and he never causes real trouble. That earns him a high score from us, and the only points he loses are for not doing more than lending a hoof.
