Do we like Among Us Crewmate?

A character from Among Us (2018)

Our score: 6 out of 10. Diligent and well-meaning, and they do the work. But they're jumpy and quick to vote out a friend on a hunch, so we'd back them with some caution.

The crewmate is the default role in Among Us, the social deduction game from Innersloth. They are one of a crew of identical, colourful astronauts on a ship, base or station. Each has a list of small tasks to finish, such as wiring, fuel and swiping a card. Hidden among the crew are up to three impostors who can't do real tasks, only fake them.

Crewmates win by finishing all their tasks or by voting out every impostor. They can't speak outside of meetings, so they rely on alibis, watching one another and the odd visual task that proves who is innocent. Reports of bodies call a meeting where the crew argues and votes.

The score reflects a character who is dutiful and cooperative, and who is the reason the ship works at all. Marks are lost because crewmates get suspicious fast, and a loud accusation can sway the crew into voting off an innocent. They are good at heart, but not always wise.
