Do we like Baker Boy?

Our score: 8 out of 10. No harmful words or company turned up, and his record shows real work for young people and First Nations causes, though the sourcing I could open was thin.

Baker Boy is Danzal Baker, a Yolngu rapper and dancer from Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory. He raps in Yolngu Matha as well as English, which is a big part of why he broke through, and his debut singles landed in 2017.

On the good-person side, searches turned up no court cases, lawsuits or credible allegations against him. His record shows mentoring of young people, a literacy ambassador role and appearances at First Nations activism events. I could not open most pages in full this time, so treat this as a solid but light check.

The recent news is all good. The DJANDJAY tour ran through April and May 2026, and a deluxe edition of the album followed on 21 August. He is still making music with other First Nations artists rather than going it alone.
