Do we like Aurora Ramazzotti?

Our score: 7 out of 10. A clean harm record and some public stands for women, but little on LGBTQ+ issues or the planet, so we can't score her higher.

Aurora Ramazzotti is a TV presenter and social media star in Italy. She's the daughter of two very famous parents, so she's carried the 'nepo baby' tag since she started. Her public life has been spent justifying her place, and she's been fairly upfront about how much the nepotism jibes sting.

In 2021 she posted a video calling out catcalling, the street whistling and comments aimed at women. Plenty of people piled on, women included. She told Corriere della Sera that the harshest comments, especially from other women, hurt, and she said catcalling brings “Paura, umiliazione” (fear, humiliation).

On the harm test, we found nothing nasty from her. No slide into conspiracy theories, no attacks on migrants or trans people, no dodgy company. We also found nothing from her on LGBTQ+ rights or the climate, so that's a gap rather than a gold star. Her stands so far have been about the treatment of women.

In 2021 she backed comedian Aurora Leone, who said she was told she couldn't sit at a men-only table at a charity football match because she was a woman. Ramazzotti wrote “Il maschilismo esiste”. It's a small act, but she picked a side publicly when it could have cost her goodwill.

We found no court cases and no credible misconduct allegations against her in the sources we could read. Her social media spats are mostly with people who attack her looks, and criticism like that isn't a mark against her. She's currently on a TV dance show, which seems harmless.
