Do we like Adam Scott?
Our score: 6 out of 10. A clean record in what we could read, but too little full reporting to score him higher.
Adam Scott is the Australian who won the Masters in 2013, the first Aussie to pull on the green jacket. Since then he has stayed a fixture of the PGA Tour, and he is still turning up in the big events at 46.
Scandal-wise, the cupboard is bare. Our searches found no lawsuit, conviction or serious accusation against the golfer, and the only legal-sounding stories were a 2013 lawyer-for-information episode and a different Adam Scott altogether. That's a clean sheet, but we couldn't open every report to double-check.
On the harm check, the most telling thing we could read is how he handled the LIV split. In September 2022 he said he didn't see LIV as “pure evil for the game of golf”, told both sides to stop trading barbs, and said of players who joined “More power to them”. You can read that as grown-up or as a bit soft on Saudi-backed money, and where you land depends on how you see the sportswashing argument.
In March 2025 he met President Trump at the White House as part of the PGA Tour's push for a deal with LIV. Afterwards he said the president had “far more important things to focus on”. That reads as a golfer doing tour business, not endorsing anyone, and we found no donations or campaigning from him.
We found nothing from him on LGBTQ+ people, women, migrants or climate, good or bad. His foundation for kids' education turned up in searches, but we couldn't open a page to confirm the details, so we won't lean on it. That's honestly the whole list.
