Do we like Adam Hamilton?
Our score: 5 out of 10. Nothing harmful or dodgy found, but little is known about him beyond his studio work, so this is a middle score.
Adam Hamilton is a Los Angeles producer, composer and musician, and he is mostly known for one record. In 2011 Mix reported that he produced William Shatner's concept album, as the first project in his new home studio.
That album was a Bowie-inspired concept record with 19 covers, and guests included Sheryl Crow, Brad Paisley, Steve Miller, Lyle Lovett and Bootsy Collins. Some visited his studio and others sent parts in remotely, so Hamilton stitched it together in Pro Tools. He described the tougher moments as “a jigsaw puzzle that got thrown up in the air”.
These days he is the studio drummer for L.A. Guns. Blabbermouth reports he played on their album Leopard Skin (April 2025) but isn't listed on the live release due out in July 2026 via Cleopatra Records, which uses a touring drummer instead.
On the harm test, we searched for anything he has said or done about LGBTQ+ people, women, vaccines, climate or politics, and nothing from him turned up. Most results for this name are about a Kansas pastor and Senate candidate, who is a different person. The band and label he works with show nothing harmful in the pages we read, so there's no by-association mark either.
We also found no court case, lawsuit or allegation against him, and no reports of how he treats co-workers either way. Equally, we found no charity work or kind acts to point to. That is honestly the whole list, which is why this isn't a higher score.
So the verdict is a pass on both tests, with the caveat that it rests on an absence of bad news rather than a pile of good. A working studio bloke with a Shatner album on his CV and no stoushes on the record is an easy one to shrug at, but not one we can gush over.
