Do we like Aaron Paul?

Our score: 8 out of 10. No harmful words or acts turned up, no court trouble, and some real fundraising, but the record on his wider views is thin.

Aaron Paul is the bloke who made Jesse Pinkman the heart of Breaking Bad. It won him three Emmys for best supporting actor in a drama. He then brought Jesse back in the 2019 film El Camino and in the final season of Better Call Saul.

Nothing in the court or allegations searches turned up anything about him. No lawsuits against him, no accusations, no tabloid fires worth reporting. That's honestly the whole list, which is a refreshing thing to write about an actor.

On the harm check, we found no harmful words or acts, and nothing about who he works with set off alarms. His recent work is mainstream stuff: Fallout on Prime Video, and the Dos Hombres mezcal brand he runs with his Breaking Bad co-star Bryan Cranston. The gap is that the searches found little from him on trans rights, climate or migrants either way. So it's a clean pass, but on a thin record.

His loudest public stoush was about money. On the 2023 SAG-AFTRA picket line he said he gets nothing from Netflix streaming Breaking Bad, and that it's time for streamers to “pony up”. That's an actor standing with other actors, which is the right side of that fight.

The good stuff is real. In 2013 he ran a Breaking Bad finale contest through Omaze that raised nearly US$1.8 million for the Kind Campaign, an anti-bullying charity. He announced the result himself on Twitter.

The recent news is simply work. Prime Video announced in May 2026 that he's joining Fallout season 3, with no word yet on who he plays. Nothing controversial sits behind it.
